THERMIX APM FOIL® is a gel-based liquid protective film that, upon drying, forms a dense polymer coating. This easily removable and tearable film serves as a temporary protective layer, safeguarding surfaces from minor damage, scratches, and dirt. It is an ideal solution for construction or renovation projects, offering protection against dust, paint, cement, and mechanical damage such as welding spatters, metal chips, and scratches. By using this liquid film, construction processes can be simplified, accelerated, and, most importantly, the associated costs of preparatory work can be significantly reduced.
APM FOIL® is a liquid foil that can be applied using a roller, brush, or spray gun. This water-based solution is non-toxic and 100% biodegradable, ensuring environmental safety. It provides surface protection for up to 12 months and even longer, depending on the application location and conditions. APM FOIL® forms a strong transparent or opaque film, depending on the application type and color, effectively adhering to the substrate. The film can be easily removed without leaving any traces, leaving the surface perfectly clean and eliminating the need for washing and post-construction cleaning expenses. Suitable for both colored and undyed surfaces, APM FOIL® serves as a water-based emulsion coating for temporary protection on both vertical and horizontal surfaces.
APM FOIL® is a temporary peel-off protective coating specifically designed to safeguard non-porous surfaces from various types of damage such as abrasion, stains, spills, moisture, scratches, and corrosion. This liquid coating dries to create a robust and flexible film that effectively shields surfaces. It is recommended for internal use and can be used outdoors during the summer, provided heavy rainfall is avoided. For optimal results, application should be carried out at a temperature not lower than 10°C and humidity not exceeding 85%.
Glass facades, facade panels, windows, shop windows, doors, elevators, walls, handrails, furniture, bathroom and kitchen fittings, machine elements, polished concrete, tiles and terracotta, new cars, buses, protection of machine parts during storage or transport, cranes, protection of coated metals during production or maintenance, pipes during transport or storage, protection of spray booths. Apartment renovations: painting and plastering works, finishing works, tiling. Temporary protection for ceramic and marble surfaces. Surface protection against damage, construction and repair of yachts, protection of decorations, advertisements during fairs, transport packaging, advertising in transport. Protection against dirt, dust, oil, grease, rust, corrosion.
Plastics, acrylic, PVC, ceramics, parquet, panels, marble, granite, work surfaces, stainless steel, aluminum, polished concrete, varnished floors, tiles, laminated surfaces, glass and most non-porous surfaces.
At approximately 150 microns, the coating will be fully dry in approximately
60 minutes at room temperature. Forced drying and increasing the surface temperature to a maximum of 40°C can be used. Full curing depends on the ambient temperature, humidity, ventilation and thickness of the applied layer and takes from 0.5 to 24 hours maximum.
Water-based, non-toxic, non-flammable (wet and dry).
Colourless/transparent in wet and dry form. Also available
in different colours on request. Non-standard base colours are subject to price negotiations.
The wet layer can be easily removed manually.
Clean rollers, guns and other equipment with water immediately after use.
Plastic buckets with a capacity of 20 L
To ensure proper application, please consult the provided application manual for detailed instructions. It is recommended to use a wet film gauge to ensure that the minimum wet film thickness is achieved. Thoroughly mix the contents of the container before use. Before applying the coating, always conduct a test area and peel off a sample surface of each substrate to ensure compatibility.
The minimum wet film thickness (WFT) should be 150 microns, which corresponds to a dry film thickness (DFT) of 50 microns. The maximum wet film thickness should not exceed 300 microns. Avoid application in wet or frosty conditions and protect the coated surface from rainfall until completely dry. Additionally, avoid any precipitation within 24 hours of application. It is recommended to maintain a material temperature of 20-30°C during the application process.
During application, it is recommended to use a protective mask, protective gloves (prevention of e.g. an allergic reaction), protective glasses (in particular when applying with a pressure gun), painting suit to avoid stains on shoes and clothes, hearing protection, headphones when using a compressor during spray painting.
